Crumbie frustrated as Boldon undone by last-minute winner
Boldon CA manager David Crumbie admitted his players were not good enough in their home defeat against Billingham Synthonia on Saturday.
The two sides looked to be heading for a share of the Northern League Division Two points after Levi Collins cancelled out an opening goal from Synners forward Kurtis Howes.
However, there was to be a latestinginthetaleforCrumbie’s men as Connor Johnson poppeduptosnatchthepoints forSynnerswhenhefoundthe net in the second minute of injury-time.
Reflecting on his side’s display,Crumbiesaid:“Bothsides startedthegameinalivelyway, without really creating too many chances. We were not good enough in the middle of the park and gave the ball away too many times for my liking.
“The second-half was more of the same, but they started to look the more dangerous and gottheleadwithawell-worked goal.
“We’ve got ourselves back into the game with an equaliser from Levi, but they went andwonthegamewiththelast kick.
“To be fair, a draw would maybe have been a fair result, but if anyone was going to win it, it would be Synners because they look more up for the game.”
Elsewhere on Saturday, second-half goals from Luke Martindale and Jak Hanson helped Washington overturn a half-time deficit to claim a
2-1 win at Jarrow, while leaders Heaton Stannington fell to a shock 2-1 defeat at Willington as goals from Aidan Hart and Craig Moody sandwiched an equaliser from Stan striker Evan Howard.
