Bollards to stop anti social behaviour at Sunderland cemetery.

Maureen Wills: Sad reflection on how values are not instilled in the younger generations. Where has the respect gone? No decent person would even consider using a cemetery as a drive through.

Diane Steel: They want cameras in for the thefts off the graves.

Dawn Finnigan: Please stop blaming the younger drivers. There are many of all ages doing this. No respect for anyone or anything, the attitude is rules are to be broken. Best action would be cameras at roadway entrances for those that use it as a rat run.

Barry Kean: I've seen loads of people doing it, and not just the young ones either, it used to be blocked off before.

David Todd: Try shutting the gate and use for pedestrians only.

Carol Garnett: Shocking no values or respect for loved ones no longer with us, shame on them.

Veronica Booth: About time to stop those who use it as a shortcut from Chester Road, and Hylton road to Chester Road, it’s disgraceful, the cemetery as gone downhill, it’s total mess.

William Rutherford: The problem was originally created several years ago by taxi drivers. They are always looking for short cuts and therefore creating rat-runs. Their customers soon realised this was a 'good Idea' and so the problem grew.

Alan Dorward: Make it the slowest route. Drop some concrete blocks and make the path through like a winding maze.

Those paying respect are usually not in a hurry.

Mick Caney: This is well overdue and will stop the blatant drug dealing too.

Alan Lawton: It’s easy lock the barrier that’s situated halfway along the road inside the cemetery.

Pam Barber: Lock the gates and just have a walk in gate. Sign up saying all cars must be out by a certain time if not they locked in overnight.

James Oleary: Should have been done years ago.
