Cole urges against complacency with key duo out for Silksworth

-

Silksworth CW manager Jamie Cole has described the absence of Nathan Bennett and Robert Page as “a bit of a blow” to his plans for Saturday’s trip to Norton and Stockton Ancients.

The duo have impressed since Cole added them to his squad, and have played a key role in the club’s recent upturn in form.

Silksworth make the trip to Teesside looking for a fifth consecutive win - but Cole is disappointed to be travelling without two inform players.

He told The Echo: “Nathan and Robert are missing this weekend and that’s a bit of a blow because they have made a huge impact on our team performances since they joined the club.

“We can’t allow complacency to set in because we are on a good run and we still need to work hard to get the result we are after.

“Norton are coming off the back of a good result against Annfield Plain, so I am expecting a very tough game.”

Farringdon Detached are without the suspended Connor O’Neill for their trip to Darlington RA as he serves the final game of a threematch ban he received for a red card shown in the recent defeat to Silksworth.

Elsewhere on Saturday, in-form Durham United can move to within six points of leaders Chesterle-Street United with a home win against Washington United.

Wolviston will be without defender Chris Fairless for their home game against Shotton Colliery but manager Chris Lax is boosted by the return of midfielder Jack Leicos.

FC Hartlepool are without the suspended Connor Gales as they look to bounce back from last weekend’s surprise home defeat against Coxhoe Athletic.

Terry Hill’s men travel to Cumbria to face Windscale knowing a win could take them to within two points of the top six.

Third-placed Gateshead Leam Rangers can boost their promotion hopes with a win at Richmond Town, and Coxhoe look for consecutive wins for the first time this season when they host West Auckland Tunns in a battle of the division’s bottom two clubs.

Two sides sat just below mid-table meet at Derwent Park as Annfield Plain entertain Shildon Reserves.
