West End boss Stewart wary of in-form Horden and threat they will pose

-

Sunderland West End manager Steven Stewart has praised the impact Horden CW have made since their return to the Northern League.

Jonny Payne’s side will be the visitors to Ford Hub in the only fixture tonight across both divisions of the Northern League.

After making a largely positive start to their first campaign back in step six, Horden really hit form with a lengthy unbeaten run that started in November and remain in tact.

Stewart described tonight’s opponents as “a strong side” and warned his players not to get ahead of themselves as they look to keep alive their play-off push.

He said: “It’s back home for a big Friday night game against a Horden side that are in great form.

“They had an indifferent spell but they have found their feet over the last few months and they’re a strong side.

“We need to win as many games as we can because a lot of teams are catching us. We can’t look too far ahead, it’s all about trying to get the three points on Friday night.”

There was good news for Stewart as forward Morgan Dart returns from injury to take his place in the West End squad.

Their visitors have several selection issues with Nat Skidmore, John Bowes, Josh Home-Jackson, Kieron Campbell and Ewan Simpson all set to miss out.

Boldon CA have Daniel Hopper and Jonathan Wightman available once again as they prepare to host Newcastle University on Saturday.

Durham City’s latest attempt to claim a first win of the season takes them to inform Easington Colliery and Washington will hope to kick away from the bottom three when they head to Tow Law Town.

Billingham Synthonia will have new signing Mason McNeill available for their trip to table-toppers Heaton Stannington and Jarrow have Gary Shaw, Luke Hudson and Glen Hargrave available once again for their home game with struggling Esh Winning.

Dan Mullen and Konner Lamb will miss Ryton and Crawcrook Albion’s home game with Bedlington Terriers as they serve suspensions and Jason Chanayire will be available for Birtley Town for their game at Willington.

Callum Boakes will be in the Brandon United squad as they host Redcar Town and Carlisle City will be at near full-strength for their home game against Blyth Town.
