House firm boss in appeal to help shape future

-

The boss of an innovative house building firm is urging businesses of all sizes in County Durham to help shape the area’s new economic plan.

Scott Bibby, managing director at modular housebuilder CoreHaus, says it is essential that businesses across the county – regardless of size – have their say in a three-month long consultation on the Durham County Council strategy.

CoreHaus opened its manufacturing site at the Jade Business Park in Murton, near Seaham, last year and has since recruited a highly skilled team to produce its unique modular homes.

Durham County Council wants businesses to help shape an economic strategy for the future.

Mr Bibby said: “It’s important that businesses across the county have their say and help create a strategy that’s inclusive for everyone – regardless of size, sector or location.

"If you don’t say what you want, you can’t expect the results you’re after.”

He added: “It’s crucial that we work with the council and

Business Durham to create an economy that is made for each and every business and one that is futureproofed for generations to come.”

Cllr Elizabeth Scott, cabinet member for economy and partnerships at Durham County Council, said: “We urge businesses of all shapes and sizes from across all parts of the county to get involved and join our big econ-versation.

"It’s important businesses have their say on a wide range of issues.”

To join the econ-versation, go to www.durhamecon-versation.co.uk, email Econversation@durham.gov.uk or call 03000 260000.
