STORY

Work has now been completed on new play areas in the west area of Sunderland in time for the Easter school holidays.

Angela Kehoe Smith: I hope they have installed CCTV as well, otherwise it will be vandalised.

Tom Sloan: Just wait for the feral kids to sort it out.

Lori Lola: Without a doubt, I live there and dread them passing my gate.

Gillian Robson: Would like to see some money spent on Roker park play area and cleaned up.

Julie Underwood:

That’s great news for Barnes Park I bet it will be amazing, but the rest of the local councillors need to look at the areas they represent, it is very clear new parks for children are needed across the city.

Shauna Wisbeck: Nothing for the Washington children.

Andrea Carruthers: How come in Washington we have nothing like this, our parks are a mess and our

kids have nowhere to play.

Charlotte Granton: Won't last long kids will destroy it as per because there's nothing else for them to do.

Kieran Kirby: We had a lovely park at Albany, didn't last long and that's through no fault of the council.

Lisa Sando: It's great. Just got to stop it all being vandalised again, which has already started on the Hylton Road fields park.

Gemma Thompson: I was at Hylton Road park last week. Great park but had a lot of broken glass on the park which totally spoilt it. I have a three year old and a 10 year old, my 10 year old knows how to avoid the glass but my three year old doesn't.

Helen Nichols: Yet again Washington is not included surprise surprise.

Sharon Ranson: It’s about time Burnside Estate in Houghton had a play park.

Robert Thompson: Itisa really good idea that these play areas have been updated, I only hope that they are looked after.
