STORY

Which areas of Sunderland do you think need more public toilets, or need current facilities improved?

Abigail Higgins: Every park but especially ones with play parks, such as Backhouse Park that currently has none. Ideally with a ranger’s hut attached to keep an eye on who is going in and out to improve safety and discourage anti social behaviour.

Susan Barraclough: City centre, I can think of only one set of public toilets.

Lyndsey Forsyth:

Herrington Country Park, should be upgraded and more situated around the park.

Syd Rowell: The full country needs more, no matter where you go it's a mission to find one open. Over the years councils have closed hundreds of public toilets. I know some shops and cafes have them but it not down to them to provide them instead of the council.

Margy James: Down at Roker, the toilets down there are old and disgusting, they could put modern ones there and put in a tap on the wall that you can use to clean children’s feet.

Emma Knowles: Roker and Seaburn seafront (current ones at Roker are awful).

Joe Bellerby: Need a few more in the town centre and in the parks/near beaches.

Marie Carr: All over Sunderland.

Kathleen Waller: Yes brand new in Roker side, Sues cafe are disgusting the older ones along beside Granny Annies are better.

Lynn Greenhalgh: Any one of the retail parks, and more in The Bridges.

Joan Boddy: Definitely Roker park itself, and down on that little bit of the front beside Grannies, now that the amusements and that bit are all empty.

Tammy Seery: Should build a park on Hendon beach and clean up the glass that's all over.

Lorraine Allsopp: Mowbray park.

David Pink: Every retail park.
