Silksworth CW manager Jamie Cole admitted he is looking forward to the summer break as his side prepare to round off their season with a trip to Teesside.

Norton and Stockton Ancients will provide the final opposition of the campaign for Cole and his players as they look to end on a high.

It has been a mixed season for Silksworth, who remain in the Wearside League’s top five ahead of the game, but will likely be overhauled over the next two weeks with a number of their rivals holding games in hand.

There has been disappointment in the cups with Cole’s side failing to progress beyond the first round of all four competitions.

Looking ahead to the season-endingvisit to Norton, the Silks worth boss revealed he is ready for a a break but urged his players togo out“on a high ”.

He told The Echo: “We are heading to Norton with a depleted squad because we have a lot of players away for the Easter weekend.

“We will still go therewith a strong side and we are hoping we can finish the season on a high. It’sbeenalongseason,so I think we are all ready to take a break and regroup for next season.”

Their hosts will be without experienced defender Andrew Burton as he serves the final game of a three-match suspension.

Farringdon Detached face a tough looking visit to what many people would consider to be the new league title favourites this weekend when they head to Gateshead Leam Rangers.

Leam claimed a 2-1 home win against leaders Chester le-Street United in mid week to

move within two points of the summit. However, they also hold two games in hand over United and will fancy their chances of securing promotion into the Northern League at the end of the season.

Elsewhere on Saturday,

third-placed Darlington Town will visit bottom of the table Cox hoe Athletic and Durham Corinthians also hit the road as they travel to Annfield Plain.

West Auckland Tunns are without the suspended Joseph King as he completes a threematch

ban when they visit Wolviston.

Windscale will look to boost their hopes of securing a top-six place with a home win against Shotton Colliery and struggling Darlington RA hostRichmondTownatBrinkburn Road.
