STORY:

Flats planned submitted for former city centre jewellery shop – but concerns raised over lack of bins.

Adam Jefferson:

More flat? Who are the demographic, that these developments are aimed at?

Liz Davie was Timmy:

Oh, what a good idea as they twiddle their pens….let’s have more flats.

Stephen Paul: Just what this city needs more flats, absolute disgrace, if this goes through just another nail in the coffin for this once vibrant city, this council seems intent on ruining the town centre. It’s shops we need, the only way to stop this idiotic flat-obsessed council is to get them out, they are absolutely systematically destroying everything that was good about Sunderland.

Marie Harper: The town is a disgrace, there's nothing there anymore, no wonder people shop elsewhere.

Victoria Hope: At this rate the whole of Sunderland will be flats, getting less and less shops, I don’t know why Sunderland was made a city, should have kept us as a town.

Carley Henderson: Flats in Joblings, flats in Louis, now flats in the jewellery store! They need to think of more retail therapy for the place they have a nerve to call a city!

Jodie Robinson: How many more flats? Absolute joke. We need decent retailers. This is why people go to Newcastle or Gateshead to shop.

Vicky Donkin: Any chance Sunderland could get more shops preferably not more charity shops but actually shops you can buy clothes in or do a food shop?

Bob Langley: No wonder anyone with any sense will shop in Newcastle. Nothing to come to town for.

Paul Brown: The whole town is slowly turning Into one massive bin.

Stephanie Renwick: Paul Brown, it definitely is.

Maureen Mulvaney: Well voters May 5th is your chance to change things, don't be complacent, we all need to do our bit or we can't complain about anything.
