Easington Welfare show Heart to win cup

Easington Welfare pulled off one of the best results of the campaign when the won the Heart Foundation Cup, defeating the mighty Coxhoe Red Lion side 2-1.

Jordan Williams netted both goals to help his side to a superb victory especially with his side being the underdogs going into the final.

In the Premier Division, goals from Luke Thompson and Liam Appleby helped Murton Colliery FC earn a 2-1 win over Easington Lane WMC, with Callum Haswell replying.

Peterlee Catholic Club had Jack Pounder (2) and Steven Hubery on target in their 3-2 win over Shotton Comrades.

In the First Division, Roseberry Park stayed on course to gainpromot­ionandthet­itleaftera­5-1winoverSe­ahamParksi­de, thanks to goals from Ross Laundon,JacobDow,Matthew Wray, Tom Lawson and Ryan Dinsdale.
