Boldon CA are hoping to build on their positive start to the Readers Durham & North East Cricket League Division Two campaign when they journey to Murton.

Third placed Boldon CA’s skipper Jason Jones said: “We have a full strength team to pick from this weekend.

"We had a great win last Saturday against Usher Moor, with Rob O’Brien getting in the runs and both spinners Connor Elliott and Sam Sanderson in the wickets.

“On Monday against Mainsforth, who in my eyes are the best team in league, we set 111 which was not a bad score on a tough track, but we bowled well but only got three wickets, but it took them 36 overs to get.

"The game will always be a tough one against Murton, who play to win and play hard, but we are hoping for another positive result.”

Tudhoe are away at Durham City and skipper Andrew Carrick said: “They are hoping for the arrival of professional Joshua James, who would replace Kieran Gillham (football).

"In only change, we are hoping we can continue our great start to the season after two wins in two!”

In the other games, early league leaders Mainsforth, take on fourth placed Evenwood at Morrison Terrace, while Bill Quay entertain second placed Peterlee at Hall Terrace and Ushaw Moor welcome bottom club Hunwick to

the Recreation Ground.

Langley Park & Bearpark have no game this weekend.

In Division One, Brandon in second place, welcome early league leaders Littletown to Brandon Lane.

Visiting skipper Paul Cassell is delighted with the start the club has made to the season, admitting: “Three wins from three and top of the league isn’t something we

expected at this stage, given the tough opposition we have faced to date.

“Bank Holiday weekend victories against Seaham Harbour and South Shields see us a point above our opponents.

"There are no easy games at this level, but we’ll continue to play the way we play and will hopefully give all sides a good, tough game of cricket.

"We welcome David Craig

back into the side after missing Bank Holiday Monday’s game, Shrey Bhatt drops down to the seconds.”

Seaham Harbour skipper Stewart Pattison said: “We journey to South Shields with injury doubts over Ian Pattison and Shane Wilson, so they will have late fitness tests before the match.”

"Paul Snaith and Matt Evans are sadly unavailable.”
