Jones hails Boldon CA’s mentality and togetherness ahead of clash
Boldon CA have received a treble boost ahead of their Readers Durham & North East Cricket League clash at home to Bill Quay.
Boldon CA, second place in Division Two, take on fifth placed Bill Quay at home.
Skipper Jason Jones said: “The team is boosted by the return of Rob O'Brien, Stu Smith and Anthony Spencer, who all come back into the team for bragging rights in the local ‘derby’ match.
“Last week’s result has shown how far we have come this season, after being 48-5 after the 13 overs, we batted brilliantly.
"The bowlers were on top form and we managed to get the win with 10 balls remaining.
"In previous seasons, we would have lost that game, but the new mentality and togetherness of the team pulled us through.”
League leaders Mainsforth travel to struggling Hunwick, while Tudhoe in third place entertain Ushaw Moor at St Charles Road.
In the other two games, Evenwood entertain Murton at their Randolph Welfare Ground, while Peterlee host Langley Park & Bearpark at the Helford Oval.
Durham City (2nds) have no game this weekend.
In Division One, Littletown in second place, entertain Ryhope and skipper Paul Cassell said: “We look to bounce back from our first defeat of the season last weekend to Brandon and we are at full strength for the fixture.”
Visiting chairman Ian Lawrence said: “We hope to build on last week's win and keep the same starting eleven.”
Seaham Harbour travel to Durham City and skipper Stewart Pattison said: “After a cracking game at South Shields last week, we welcome back Shane Wilson to the side after a hamstring injury.
"There is still no sign of Indian professional Paras Dogra due to visa issues, which is a huge blow.”
Boldon travel to Marsden and home skipper Owen Peterson said: “Ryan Little is unavailable due to work commitments; therefore club stalwart Paul Snaith is called upon.
"Really disappointed with our heavy defeat to Esh Winning last weekend, but hopefully we can give a better account against another strong outfit.”
Esh Winning journey to Dawdon Welfare and skipper Paul Chivers said: “Mark Davison is back in after missing last week. It was an excellent win last weekend, with a fantastic knock of 155 not out from Karl Turner, but this is another tough game this week.”
In the other game, South Shields in fourth place welcome league leaders Brandon, to their Dean Road ground.
Hylton have no game this weekend.
