Four to watch this week
Ted Lasso – Season 3 (12 episodes, starts streaming from March 15 exclusively on Apple TV+}
The first two series of the feelgood sports comedy drama starring Jason Sudeikis in the title role were both nominated for 20 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning several trophies and countless other plaudits.
A third and reportedly final season kicks off this week with newly-promoted AFC Richmond facing the daunting task of avoiding immediate relegation from the Premier League in the face of ridicule in the media.
Perpetually optimistic coach Ted (Sudeikis) and taciturn long-time assistant Beard (Brendan Hunt) are ready for the fight, supported by owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham).
However, they must rise to the challenge without kit man turned assistant coach Nate (Nick Mohammed), who has defected to West Ham United owned by Rebecca’s philandering ex-husband Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head).
In Nate’s place, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps into the fold as assistant coach while Keeley (Juno Temple) soaks up the pressure of running her own PR agency.
School Spirits (8 episodes, streaming from March 10 exclusively on Paramount+)
Based on the forthcoming graphic novel by Nate and Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen, School Spirits is a 10-part fantasy drama about a group of students stuck in the afterlife.
Teenager Maddie Nears (Peyton List) is in limbo at her high school with several classmates following her mysterious demise.
She joins forces with troubled souls including Charley (Nick Pugliese), Claire (Rainbow Wedell), Simon (Kristian Flores), Nicole (Kiara Pichardo), Rhonda (Sarah Yarkin), Wally (Milo Manheim) and Xavier (Spencer McPherson) to unravel the truth about her final hours.
In the process, Maddie unearths secrets and lies and edges closer to unmasking her killer.
The first three episodes attend class this week and further instalments premiere on Fridays.
Miley Cyrus: Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions) (Cert 12, streaming from March 10 exclusively on Disney+)
Chart-topping Tennessee-born singer Miley Cyrus marks the release of her eighth studio album Endless Summer Vacation with a one-off event on Disney+, which streams from 6pm GMT on March 10.
Directed by Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, the feature-length special recorded in the Los Angeles house where Frank Sinatra once lived includes performances of the hit single Flowers and seven other tracks from the LP.
Additionally, Cyrus takes part in an exclusive interview to discuss the making of the record and her career to date plus she shares behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
Outlast (8 episodes, streaming from March 10 exclusively on Netflix)
Several reality TV competitions put contestants through physical and emotional wringers under the banner of “survival of the fittest”.
Eight-part Netflix series Outlast pushes its participants’ endurance to the limit, depositing 16 self-confessed lone wolves in the Alaskan wilderness where the average temperature is zero degrees centigrade.
Competitors must live off the land to win up to one million US dollars so long as they finish the cut-throat game as part of a team.
Alliances fray, tempers detonate and players slyly stoke animosity between rivals in the hope of winning by stealth rather than brute force.
