Work progresses on old Pecocks which will house the new city centre bus gate. Big changes are afoot in the city centre.

Paul Hurt:

Still wonder how the road will work for large wagons delivering to stores in the Bridges/ back Blandford Street.

Chaneice Wood:

Sunderland has nothing any more why build more car parks we don't need, and the ones that get used don't even fill up anymore, we need more shops and more stuff to actually go to town for.

Kath Noble:

I'm impressed with new railway station, give credit where its due.

Meg Hadlington:

Old Peacocks is where cars are going to come up the back lane out on the main road. Sinatras and Railway pub has been demolished to make way for a multi storey car park, Railway pub is moving into Park Lane facing Boots the chemist.

Peter Rooney:

Wow how exciting, didn’t we have a bus station there before.

Keith Leonard:

About time, it was the only viable option.

Gordon Greenman:

Washington and Seaham have free parking.

They are doing well. Sunderland council cannot see the damage that they are doing by not observing the success of these shopping areas, and the reason for their success.

Andrew Halverson:

Fantastic all go for Sunderland. Big changes and a brighter future ahead.

David Robson:

Why come to Sunderland and pay for parking when you can shop elsewhere and the parking is free. Every time a new shopping area is opened the footfall in Sunderland reduces.

Maxine Langley:

I personally do think we have enough car parking but making public transport better is a step up also with the new train station.

Glenn Jones:

So much going on and all really positive. Other cities are standing still or going backwards.

James Smithson:

This new route is going to be like it was years ago, why change it back then to be changed again.
