Sunderland bar and kitchen to hold 12-hour party to celebrate its 20th birthday – get down to ttonic
The ttonic Bar and Kitchen is holding a huge party for their 20th birthday – and everyone’s invited! Get down to the Sunderland nightspot from 3 pm on Friday 30th June, to join the celebration.
The Sunderland city-centre institution is gearing up for 3pm on Friday 30th June when soul, Northern Soul and Motown singer Joe Russell will kick off a 12-hour extravaganza of fun and celebration.
Following that, the eight DJs who have graced ttonic during the last two decades will each play a set, accompanied by professional dancers and a fire show.
If that isn’t enough, there will be a drag queen host, bongos and saxophonists to keep the party swinging.
Director Lorraine Griffiths said: “We are so excited about this. We want our customers from years gone by to come along, see how things have changed and enjoy a great party. There is no need to book, just turn up.
“Arrival drinks will be served to all at the start, along with canapes, but there will always be something going on between 3pm and 3am so whatever time you arrive will be a good time.”
Party into weekend
the
On Saturday 1st July the partying will carry on with R&B DJ Wayne C McDonald bringing one of his famous sets to ttonic. And there will still be the bongos and saxophonists going strong.
Lorraine added: “We feel it is a big achievement to still be alive and kicking after all this time. ttonic is still one of the most popular night spots in Sunderland and plan to celebrate that in grand style.”
Celebrating 20 years
ttonic has expanded since it first opened its doors in 2003. And that change is continuing with a new day-time menu, offering what Lorraine calls “good traditional pub grub”.
A has
function room recently been renovated and is free to hire along with free arrival drinks for up to 100 guests.
Lorraine said: “I think our success comes from sustainability ttonic has always been open from 11am to 3am, seven days a week. People know it is always going to be open and we have tried to never let them down.”
