Lindsley is expecting a tough clash away at title contenders

-

In the Dukes ECB North East Premier League, there are five clubs who have taken 29 points from the first two games of the season. Two of those clubs meet up, as Burnmoor travel to Felling.

Burnmoor club official Alec Lindsley said: “We have the same team as last week’s rained off fixture against Sunderland, with Waqas Maqsood coming in for his first game of the season.

“We are aware that

Felling will be one of the title contenders again this year. They are a really tough side with quality throughout.

"We know we will have to be at our best if we are to come away with the win, but are confident we have enough to do that.

"We have a dress rehearsal in the T20 on Friday, so will look to suss out the opposition! Let’s hope the rain stays away and we can get a game in!”

Sunderland take on Tynemouth at Ashbrooke and skipper Chris Youldon said: “We are at full strength this weekend and they are a good side with lots of spin options and some explosive batting.

"We are going to have to be at our best to ensure we get the result we want at the weekend.”

Chester-le-Street are at Burnopfield and skipper Ash Thorpe said: “We have Kyle Coetzer available for the first time and Sebastian HughesPinan returns from injury, which provides us with some tough selections this week.

"This is the first week where we have everyone available for selection so we look forward to a good game against a very strong Burnopfield side.”

In Division One, Seaham Harbour travel to Sacriston, with skipper Ian Pattison saying: “We are at full strength for our visit, as Paras Dogra now has his visa, so he will be flying in this week.”

Philadelphia are at Gateshead Fell and should have a full squad to select from, including professional Manisankar Murasingh.

Lanchester face Whitburn at home and make just one change. Skipper

Stu McPhail said: “Greg Patterson is missing, so Ethan Connolly comes back into the team.”

In other games, Shotley Bridge travel to Seaham Park, Hetton Lyons are away at Willington and Eppleton welcome Crook.
