Allan and Johnson totals aren’t enough for Sunderland in defeat

Sunderland faced a formidable force in Joshua Moors during their home defeat to Tynemouth in the Dukes ECB North East Premier League.

Sunderland decided to bat first at home to Tynemouth and all-rounder Micky Allan made a useful 54 and Jack Johnson 36 not out, as they made 212-6 in total.

Although the visitors lost early wickets, Joshua Moors got stuck in and made a superb 119 knock, which included 13 fours and five sixes, to win his team the game on 216-6.

Chester-le-Street welcomed Kyle Coetzer to the team and he made 110 not out, which included 14 fours and two sixes, on his debut at Burnopfiel­d.

Amaan Ulhaq bowled well for 3-46 and the Cestrians made 246-8.

John Oswell then hit a brilliant 171 and Ben McKinney added 65 not out, as they put on 245 runs for the first wicket, as they made 247-1 to win the game by nine wickets.

Burnmoor’s Mitchell Killeen made 37 for his team at Felling, while Stuart Poynter hit 52 in their total of 200 all out, while Elliot Fox was the pick of the bowling as he took 3-39.

Although Alan Mustard made 36, they were reduced to 60-4, but Sebastian Allison cracked 52.

However, Josh Coughlin sealed their fate with 4-53 and they were all out on 166.

In Division One, Eppleton skittled visiting Crook for just 95 runs.

Connor Whitlock claimed 4-28 and Edward Brown took 3-14, with only James Vercoe resisting on 25 not out. Whitelock then fired 32 runs to get his side home to victory on 96-4.

Philadelph­ia struggled early on at Gateshead Fell, but Peter Greenwell Jnr made

35 as they managed a total of 152 all out, with Ramanpreet Singh taking 4-31.

He then scored 31 with the bat, alongside Christian French with 34 not out, to win the game on 153-4.

Although Kieran Gohery made 37 and Josh Renton 38,

Lanchester struggled at home to Whitburn and made 151 all out, as Karl Turner claimed an impressive 5-24.

In reply, Gareth Welsh fired 55 not out and then Chris Greaves 44, to see them to the win on 155-3.

Seaham Harbour batted well at Sacriston, with Jack Burnham making 51 and Paras Dogra 47, in their total of 210-9, with Thomas Hudson taking 3-42.

The home side also batted well, with Daniel Stephenson and Thomas Slane both scoring 60, in a final winning total of 213-7, despite Regan Pattison claiming 3-35.

Shotley Bridge opener Ross Burdon made 30 and Reece Carr 47, but they collapsed to 116 all out at Seaham Park, thanks to John Sample taking 4-30 and Anthony Watson 3-12.

Virat Singh then made 65 not out and Dale Shaw

41 not out, as they put on 89 unbroken runs for the third wicket, to win the game on 117-2.

Hetton Lyons made 175 all out at Willington, with Robert Talbot making 47.

The home side then cruised to victory on 176-8, thanks to Andrew Pratt 34 and Jamie Dass 46 to finish on 176-8, despite Talbot and Chris Ralston sharing six wickets between them.

In Division One of the Readers Durham & North

East Cricket League, Boldon were beaten by nine wickets at home to Brandon.

Gordon Muchall with 4-22 and Callum Appleby 3-18 doing the damage and then Jack Rutherford with 30 not out and Muchall with the bat 40 not out, eased them home to victory on 91-1.

Esh Winning made a total of 168 all out at Peterlee, thanks to Faz Hussain scoring 39, while Kieron Buck claimed 4-28 for the home side.

Omar Shahid then claimed three early wickets (3-11), to put the home side on 26-3 and then Hussain with the ball claimed 3-14 alongside Paul Chivers

3-3, to bowl them out for just 69 runs.

Ryhope were asked to bat first at home to South Shields and opener Matthew Dench made a useful 47 runs, but Alex Thompson pegged them back with 3-33 and they were all out for 147.

Shields then had Luke Elliott score 33 and won the game scoring 149-6, despite Graham Pickering taking 3-28.

Tudhoe took first knock at home to Marsden and opener Jack Sweeney made 45, Ian Grainger 56, James Cury 36 not out and Danny Thexton 44 in a total of 229-5.

The visitors had Patrick Jackson score 32, but they were all out for 114 runs, with

Grainger taking 3-41.

In Division Two, Boldon CA batted first at home to Evenwood and Sam Embleton cracked the highest score of 56 not out, to get them up to 193-7, even though Rhys Peairs claimed 3-30. In reply, the visitors were all out for just 87 runs, with Jack Mcdonald claiming 4-13.

Murton made 155 all out at home to Langley Park & Bearpark, thanks to Aiden Vout top scoring with 28, with Jason Winn and Pranav Pathiyarap­pattu claiming six wickets between them.

However, in reply they made just 96 all out despite Eby Eldho scoring 44 runs, as James Watson claimed an impressive 5-20 and Graeme Martin 3-24.

East Rainton had a comfortabl­e eight wicket win at home to Horden.

The visitors made just 109 all out with Gavin Peat making 32, but Kevin Philliskir­k and Jack Donovan shared six wickets. In reply, Lee Henderson cracked 57 not out to win the game on 110-2.

In Divison Four, Easington made it two wins from two when they outplayed Bill Quay to win by 150 runs.

Batting first Andrew Price with 66, Jonny Archer with 48 and an unbeaten 40 from Joe Pearson helped Easington to 267-9.

In reply, Bill Quay were always behind the asking rate and with wickets falling regularly in their attempted run chase, they were eventually dismissed for 117 with Evan Roberts taking 4-11 in 3.1 overs and Evan Atherton claiming 3-35 in seven overs as they helped their side to another win which now sees them third in the league table.
