Groom’s signs spell out love for bride en route
ONE groom has just done the cutest thing we have ever seen for his wife-to-be on their wedding day.
Knowing his fiancée Louise would be travelling northbound along the A3 from Godalming to Byfleet on their big day, Jon Bond decided to show her just how much he cared by placing signs along bridges she’d see on the journey.
He spelled out “L♥uise, let’s get married ♥Jon” on four handwritten signs attached to bridges on her route, between Guildford and Wisley.
Some people thought it was a marriage proposal but Jon, 32, told Surrey Advertiser, on Sunday (September 10) that he wanted to make the day extra special.
“It was an easy surprise but sometimes the easy ones are the most effective,” he said. “It was hard work,” he laughed. “But people were tooting their horns and waving at us as we were doing it which was really nice. It was really nice.”
Jon and Louise, 26, have been together for six years and married on Saturday (September 9) at Silvermere Golf Club in Byfleet, surrounded by their friends and family.
“[The signs were] a bit of a tearjerker,” Jon added.
“Our guests said that they saw [them] too – it had the desired effect!
“I’m surprised no-one has done it before, it just came to me and I decided to do it.”
The couple, from Byfleet, said their wedding day was “very special” – they’re going to enjoy a safari honeymoon in South Africa and Mauritius soon.
After speaking to Surrey Advertiser, Jon went to take the signs down on Sunday afternoon. A monumental and very, very sweet effort, Jon.
