Sut­ton’s old­est shop and, ac­cord­ing to the Guin­ness Book of Records no less, the old­est bike shop in the world! Tom Pear­son, a black­smith from Cob­ham, set up the store way back in 1860. Orig­i­nally fix­ing any­thing metal, he’d pre­dict the boom in Ly­cra clad road war­riors and mud splat­tered moun­tain bik­ers that Re-opened to the pub­lic this sum­mer, fol­low­ing a two-year re­fur­bish­ment and re­pair project, White­hall Mu­seum is as fas­ci­nat­ing a piece of ar­chi­tec­ture as it is a bea­con of lo­cal his­tory. Found in the Cheam Vil­lage Con­ser­va­tion Area, it is a rare sur­vivor of do­mes­tic ar­chi­tec­ture and in the top five per cent of sig­nif­i­cant build­ings in the coun­try. Its orig­i­nal tim­ber struc­ture was built around 1500, while its ad­di­tions mark the pass­ing of time and taste through the gen­er­a­tions. White­hall His­toric House is
