Future Surrey stars
Surrey youngsters keen to break into the film industry were recently given a helping hand by The British Film Institute (BFI). A group of 20 local young people took part in the BFI Film Academy, delivered by local company Resource Productions, at Shepperton Studios. Participants got the chance to learn about all aspects of filmmaking from script to screen, including practical workshops with camera and editing equipment, the opportunity to shoot a short film and meet guest speakers from the film industry. The BFI says the Film Academy programme is a key part of its Film Forever five-year plan to support the future success of UK film.
