King Ed­ward’s Wit­ley, an in­de­pen­dent school based in Worm­ley, re­cently took part in the Lord Mayor’s Show, to cel­e­brate the ap­point­ment of Al­der­man Peter Estlin – gover­nor and for­mer King Ed­ward’s Wit­ley pupil and head boy – as the newly elected Lord Mayor of the City of Lon­don. Pupil’s from King Ed­ward’s were joined by four pupils from part­ner school Bar­row Hills on their float, which fea­tured a gi­ant pa­per plane. Pupils also donned a va­ri­ety of hats to demon­strate the di­verse range of ca­reers pupils can fol­low. The show was broad­cast live by the BBC and seen by 400,000 peo­ple on the day.
