COWDRAY PARK FARM SHOP Midhurst Rupert Titchmarsh, general manager 01730 815152; www.cowdray.co.uk/ cowdray-farm-shop

“At Cowdray Farm Shop & Café, we are defined as a business by our connection to the land which surrounds us and our position at the heart of the beautiful South Downs National Park. We are very fortunate to be able to showcase the fruits of the estate farms and those of other local producers. These products sit side-by-side with delicacies from further afield. This field-tofork approach gives us a provenance which the public clearly appreciate, having been nominated for this award by our brilliant customers. This endorsement of our teams’ efforts is hugely gratifying.”

EGGS TO APPLES FARM SHOP Hurst Green Susannah Hewett, co-owner 01580 860566; www.eggstoapples.co.uk

“We are overjoyed to be nominated for a second time after winning this category last year. We have worked hard this year to maintain and develop our offering to customers and are really proud of what our team of staff have achieved, particularly in a year where we have seen costs for small businesses rise again. New additions include an onsite florist and we now provide catering and barbecue boxes to local vineyards and campsites. We continue to be complimented on our wide product range, customer service and the number of local producers that we champion.”

WESTONS FARM SHOP Itchingfield, Horsham David Exwood, owner 01403 791228; www.westonsfarmshop.co.uk

“The team and I are delighted and grateful to our customers for voting for us. As farmers and growers as well as retailers it makes us really proud to champion local, great quality food with excellent traceability. We love putting produce from our large, mixed family farm on the shelves and it gives us great pleasure to give so many wonderful local producers an outlet to sell their food and drink. Eating well and sustainably doesn’t have to cost the earth. We stock seasonal Sussex produce and use as little packaging as possible. Good friendly service doesn’t cost anything but it is worth a lot to our customers.”
