THREE GREAT SOLO RPGs

-

THOUSAND YEAR OLD VAMPIRE

Something of a darling of the solo RPG scene this game of exploring the history of the world through the memories, conflicts and scars of your character leads not only to a full and delicious narrative, but also challenges you to be uncomfortable while playing the game. Your character will do things that you would never do, which makes it a triumph of roleplaying generally – even outside of the solo category. Often we play RPGs where characters are just the players, but 10% braver, here you’re committing to a role of your own. We gave it a Must-Play on its initial release, and while it’s hard to get hold of a hard copy, there are community copies available for free on Tim Hutchings’ Itchio page as we write this. You’ve got no excuse not to give it a go (and of course pick up a pretty version when they’re more readily available).
