FIVE EXPLODING KITTENS GAMES TO PLAY

-

EXPLODING KITTENS

(2015, £15)

The titular game that started it all – Exploding Kittens is a fast playing, easy to learn game of trying desperately not to blow up. You’ll avoid that bomb card at all costs, using others to peek at the deck, steal cards, shout NOPE gleefully at your fellow players attempt to lay a pivotal card, and hopefully keep hold of that all important diffuse bomb card, that might just save you from exploding.

THROW THROW BURRITO EXTREME

(2019, £23)

Coming in a standard flavour, and an extreme flavour, both see you hurling a burrito – either a bean bag form, or a giant blow up burrito the size of the average person (or it at least feels like it), this is a card game that mixes in the fun of dodgeball with card based point scoring.

POETRY FOR NEANDERTHALS

(2020, £15)

What if you had to describe something using only one syllable words? And if, upon failure, you got bopped with a blow up NO! Stick? That’s precisely the premise of Poetry for Neanderthals, with a 90 second time limit to keep your team in time.

A GAME OF CAT & MOUTH

(2020, £19)

We awarded A Game of Cat & Mouth a Must-Play accolade, and for good reason – this is a cat themed dexterity game that folds out of the box it sits in to create an arena, through which you’ll use magnetic paws to flick balls through the mouth of a plastic cat. A game that perfectly pokes at any competitive spirit.

A LITTLE WORDY

(2021, £11)

The game that represented where Exploding Kittens is heading, this is a word game full of mischief. Draw tiles, form a word from the letters you have, scramble and pass to your opponent. They’re then going to try to guess your word – did you go obvious? Is it a long word, a short word? Clues are available, but your points decrease as you use them. Game of puzzle-y deduction.
