Take a Break Fate & Fortune

The GIFT of paw-sight

Our new cat came to me in a vision.

Iwas out for a walk with my boyfriend, Simon, when we heard rustling from a nearby bush, followed by yowling. A moment later a grey cat appeared in front of us.

‘Hello Handsome!’ I beamed, looking into a pair of bright blue eyes.

The cat went straight up on his back paws stretching up Simon’s leg, clearly asking for some fuss.

‘You’re friendly,’ Simon cooed, stroking the cat’s ears. ‘I wish you were mine!’

We had two cats at home, Tom and Jessie, but neither was very affectionate towards Simon. This one, however, had an instant bond with him.

‘Looks like a pedigree,’ I said. ‘He’ll certainly have an owner.’

Simon agreed, reluctantly saying goodbye to his new friend.

When I looked back over my shoulder the cat was still watching us, wistfully.

A few weeks later, on Halloween 2017, Tom sadly passed away. Two months later, in December, we went for another walk and I suddenly got a powerful vision of the handsome grey cat we’d met three months earlier. ‘Do you remember him?’ I asked Simon. ‘Of course,’ he replied.

That night back at home we’d just lit a fire when we heard yowling at the front door. ‘You won’t believe this,’ I told Simon. ‘It’s the grey cat!’

It was so spooky. The very day I’d seen him in my mind’s eye he’d turned up. And how had he even known where we lived?

This time the cat looked cold and bedraggled and kept scratching like he had fleas.

‘Maybe he doesn’t have an owner after all,’ I frowned. ‘Spooky’ as we called him began coming and going as he pleased after that, even joining us on our daily walks like a dog.

He’d been living happily with us for about four months when we noticed a bite on one of his paw pads and took him to the vet.

When we explained that he’d just turned up one day the vet checked him for a microchip. Turned out his real name was Teddy and he’d been missing for 18 months! The vet called his owner who came straight round to collect him.

Simon and I felt pretty deflated. By now we’d really fallen for him. And my

premonition had made it feel like we were fated to have him in our lives.

It was just three days later, walking through the fields, that I spotted Spooky running towards me. He greeted me by standing up on his back legs before following me home.

I called his owner, who said, ‘He’s been driving us insane day and night trying to get out the house. Perhaps we should let him choose where he wants to live?’ We agreed.

Two years on Spooky still lives with us. We love him very much. But then, I had a funny ‘feline’ about him from the start!
