After clashing with her rescue cat Ziggy, Jacqueline turned to the stars for help
Getting a cat seemed like a good way of enjoying a bit of company for retiree Jacqueline, who picked up her pet in December 2017.
‘When I first saw Ziggy
I couldn’t resist him. He was a little ball of fun. I knew he’d have lots of energy, but I didn’t expect him to be so aggressive,’ says Jacqueline from Nottingham.
‘He was always nipping and biting at anything he could get his teeth into – including my feet and hands!’
Before long, Ziggy’s behaviour was so bad that Jacqueline couldn’t go near him.
‘He’d hiss and spit at me, and if I did try and calm him down, he’d lash out with a claw. He was fine with everyone else – it was just me! ‘I’d read that a cat’s birth sign could affect their personality and I knew Zig was a feisty Scorpio. I’m a Libra so we’re not the perfect fit. Librans are balanced and laid-back, while
Scorpios have a go-getting attitude. Suddenly it all made sense why we weren’t getting along.’ Determined not to give up on Ziggy, Jacqueline researched more about his sign and discovered that Scorpios are passionate and full of mischief, needing lots of play to express themselves. Jacqueline realised Ziggy had been lashing out through frustration.
‘I got toys we could have fun with together, like a catnip mouse on a dangly rod and woolly balls to throw. It helped us bond and kept Ziggy active and happy. His mood has totally changed and he’s much friendlier now he sees me as a play mate rather than his enemy!’
