Mum and Dad were childhood sweethearts and inseparable. Dad went 18 months before Mum got ill and I’m not surprised he was waiting for her. Seconds before she passed, I had made Mum a cup of tea and jokingly said to her: ‘I’ve made one for Dad. You can tell him his tea is ready,’ and then the room went really cold and she was gone.

I just knew someone had come to get her and it’s so comforting to know that it was Dad. They couldn’t be without each other.

The pair of them loved taking holidays by the sea and we scattered their ashes in a waterfall so what Sandrea said makes sense.

Never a day went by without me speaking to Mum and Dad so it’s amazing Sandrea brought both of them through and was able to tell me what their lives are like up there.
