Mum left her house to me and my brother, Oscar, when she died. However, we can’t sell it as Oscar lives there.
I was in a difficult relationship seven years ago, which I left almost three years ago now. I’ve been in a relationship since then, which was bad too. I wish I could meet a nice man as I miss the companionship. That said, I’m a nurse so I meet lots of people at work. It was interesting to hear Mandy’s description of the man I’ll be with. I don’t have a type as such — for me, it’s about their personality.
Nina is a nickname my Portuguese friends call me. I don’t know two of the other names, but Susana is a friend who has been unwell.
I work 20 hours a week in the eye department at the hospital, but I want to up my hours. Just a few days after the reading, I was asked whether I’d be interested in a career in gynaecology, which I could do alongside my current job. When the person told me this, I laughed and told them about Mandy’s reading, but I also said yes!
Mandy spoke about my kids — I have three boys and a girl. My daughter Renata, 25, is moving in with her boyfriend. Shawn, 16, is the one who is very strong, while my youngest, Shayan, 15, accidentally dropped his phone in the water and it affected the sound. We put it in a bowl of rice to dry it off and it’s working again.
The photo with a baby in is the only one I have of me, Mum and my son, Reg, making it very special. He was the only grandchild she got to meet before she died of breast cancer when Reg was two, so Mandy was spot-on there, too.
I have Mum’s old recipe book which I always use at Christmas! She didn’t particularly like yellow flowers but I will keep a look out for the canvas Mandy told me about.
Straight after the reading, I realised ‘Burger’ sounds like ‘Braga’, which is the city Mum was born in. However, two days after the reading, Mum’s brother, Antonio, died. Now I think Mum was saying ‘brother’ to Mandy, but she got confused by her Portuguese accent. Mum loved Antonio very much and it gives me comfort to think they are together.
