Developing your gift

Now you know where your talent lies, here’s how to develop it

TAROT

‘People use tarot cards today for divination, to give insight into themselves and their destiny,’ says Cassandra.

1 There are hundreds of decks — choose one that feels right for you.

2 Learn the meanings of the minor arcana cards.

3 The major arcana display their meanings with imagery. Look at each major arcana and get a feel for them.

4 Then, from the 78-deck, start pulling a card for the day — one tarot when you wake up. Note the card in your journal.

5 At bedtime, look up the tarot’s meaning and reflect on how the message, advice or warning played out.

ASTROLOGY

‘Astrology can give an insight into your character and profiles for family and friends,’ explains Cassandra. ‘One of the best ways to develop your astrology skills is to first work on your own birth chart, or read up on your Sun sign.’

1 Astro.com offers free birth charts and is an ideal place to start exploring your Sun sign.

2 For personalised charts, you will need your date and time of birth. If you don’t know your time of birth, use noon.

HEALING

One of the easiest ways to tap into the power of healing is with crystals.

1 Carry a stone in your handbag or pocket to keep its healing power near.

2 Wear it as jewellery, then you can touch the crystal to give you a healing boost throughout the day.

3 Put the crystal under your mattress or on your bedside table to aid sleep and healing.

4 Make crystals part of your décor by placing them on your mantelpiece or hall table to fill a space with particular healing energy.

5 Make gemstone water — place a crystal in water for 24 hours, boil the water and then drink it.

MEDIUMSHIP

‘Mediums can contact those who have died. Some mediums operate through Spiritualist churches while others work from home,’ explains Cassandra. ‘However, before you work with the public, or friends and family, you need to know how to open up and close down, and how to link with your spirit guides for protection. Only an experienced medium can teach you these skills.’

1 Join a psychic development circle operated by your local Spiritualist church. Beware of anyone who asks for large sums of money to train you quickly.

2 Trust your intuition concerning people and groups. If you feel uncomfortable, don’t continue — find another teacher or group.

3 Find your local Spiritualist church via The Spiritualist Association of Great Britain (sagb.org.uk). Or try a course at The Arthur Findlay College (arthurfindlaycollege.org).
