In­dus­try sources tell us the chip is happy to reach 5GHz with wa­ter-cool­ing, and at the warm-up for HWbot’s ex­treme over­clock­ing event, we saw 7GHz. Granted, the over­clock­ing su­per­stars at this CES event were us­ing liq­uid ni­tro­gen to cool down the sil­i­con and ratchet up the clocks. But one still has to marvel at just how far these PCs can be pushed.
