‘Flexibility is key to overseas growth’

Dudley College currently operates in China, India, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Pakistan, Indonesia and across Europe, offering a wide variety of technical and academic education programmes.

Sanjeev Ohri, the college’s director of worldwide operations, says that part of the appeal of a British education in the international community is that it emphasises employer links. “I think one of the things that colleges overseas and the organisations we’re working with find is that we’re quite flexible in terms of our approach,” he explains.

“It’s not something that’s actually set in stone…what they really like is the employer links that we’ve got. We sit down around the table with employers who are looking for specific vocational programmes, so that when you’re actually in a vocational setting, you know the curriculum is actually designed around the needs of the employer.”
