Why do teachers stay in the profession? Clue: it’s not for the pay (bit.ly/payteacher)
Teachers are paid for responsibility. It’s the head’s name on the Ofsted report. It would be wrong to give them a smaller increase.
If you’re an NQT in a non-london city, you need a pay raise much more urgently than a headteacher.
Always remember, you do it ‘for the children’, not for financial reward. If you’re in it for the money then you are in the wrong game.
We have a huge‘professional’ army of teachers, forced to live in a single room or with parents as salaries are so low.
