Fokker Dr. 1
MARK C WILKINS
Part of the Legends of Warfare: Aviation series and with a subtitle of Germany’s Famed Triplane in World War I, the scene is set for a visually pleasing look at the development of the most famous German fighter of WWI. However, it’s not a large book and dedicating so much space to other planes and then the Sopwith Triplane, which preceded the Fokker and inspired it, is a waste. There are chapters on the design and production problems, complete with tech specs, before getting on to the flying aces, then lots of colour photos of museum pieces and replicas.
