THE TRUMPET POLKA

Sheet music cover illustration for The Trumpet Polka composed by Herrmann Koenig and published by Deacon of Market Street, Leicester. The image shows a trumpeter of the Royal Horse Guards. Herrmann Koenig was noted on the cover as having dedicated the work to his pupil, Sydney Kennedy. Visible in the bottom left-hand corner is the signature of the artist, John Brandard. Born 1812 in Birmingham, Brandard died in London on 15 December 1863 and had been the designer of many hundreds of sheet music title pages.
