The Final Archives of the Führerbunker

If you enjoyed out cover feature on the last days of Hitler in the Führerbunker (August 2019 issue) then you’ll like this, as it’s essentially the same thing but with added details on what two French officers found when they sneaked into the ruins some seven months later. By that point the Soviet security service SMERSH had removed Hitler and Eva Braun’s remains, and Soviet soldiers and nurses had gone trophy hunting, stealing everything from busts of Hitler to Braun’s lingerie! This book covers the purpose of the bunker, the madness inside as the end came and the days after Hitler killed himself, with testimony from those escaping, such as secretary Traudl Junge. Chapter 9 finally gets round to showing and talking about the various papers that the two French officers found, which include the final orders and telegrams from Hitler. Very nicely produced, this is a great read.
