-

If you’re a collector of all things to do with the US Army then this next book should definitely be on your shopping list. It’s the US Army cap insignia, and to a lesser extent, the cap and uniform of the Army. There are spotlights on manufacturers, the design and meaning of the Great Seal from which the badge designs were derived, and focuses on various branches of the Army. Here there are cap badges for everything from Air Transport Command to the Harbor Boat Service, as well as the Women’s Army Corps. A set of appendix covers things like alphanumeric codes so you can identify manufacturers, plastic cap eagles and other areas of interest. The book is rammed with information and most helpfully, the author has graded the rarity of every badge in the book. The paper quality might be only serviceable, but with copious colour images and contemporary photos this is an essential volume for collectors.
