It was a battle that saw the greatest advance in the era of trench warfare, but still ended in a stalemate as the advance, near the French city of Arras, ran out of steam in 1917. Still, the lessons of the Somme had been learnt and new tactics and equipment were used to cut through entrenched German defences. As well as the collectables from the battle we also have features on Third Reich military daggers, the Vigneron SMG, a medal for Rhodesia, the time that Russia fought over possession of Alaska, and a feature on a Crimean War helmet. Also, Gavin Gardiner reports on a sporting gun and author Jon Trigg has a feature on the ferocious Battle of Hill 112, during Operation Jupiter in Normandy.
