To the Crimea next month and the Battle of Inkerman. This was one of the pivotal battles in the Crimean War, with the British and French fighting the Russians. A numerically superior Russian army tried to break the Allied lines as they surrounded Sevastapol but fog on the battlefield meant much of the fighting was between groups cut off from one another, leading to it being labelled ‘The Soldier’s Battle’.
