TYPE 1 HO-NI II MODELS

Ho-Ni SPG prototype 1941:
Japan’s first SPG used the 75mm Type-90 field gun on a Type 97 Chi-Ha chassis, but production was delayed until late 1942
Type 1 Ho-Ni I Model 1942:
Retaining the 75mm gun and doubling up as a tank destroyer with 50mm shield thickness, the hull machine gun was deleted for more ammo storage
Type I Ho-Ni II model 1943:
An improved and up-gunned Ho-Ni I equipped with the 105mm Type-91 army howitzer, designed solely for infantry support, not as a tank destroyer
Type 3 Ho-Ni III Model 1944:
The Type 3 was a development of the Type I tank destroyer, but with a 75mm Type-3 anti-tank gun in a fully-enclosed hull superstructure
