HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY

In His Majesty’s Territorial Army the second plate in the City of Glasgow section features a Private of either the 5th, 6th or 7th Battalions of the Highland Light Infantry. All three had their headquarters in Glasgow, their scarlet doublets having buff facings and worn with trews. Blue shakos with diced bands were worn in lieu of the helmet, the metal shoulder titles being made up of a ‘T’ over battalion number, over a stringed bugle, over ‘HLI’.
