The 100 Objects series reaches Nelson’s Navy, which at the time was the biggest single employer of people in the world. The RN maintained a fleet of over 1,000 ships, dedicated to keeping Britain safe. So here we have a potted guide, with everything from the small items like buttons and caps, to, and ridiculously, large things like preserved ships. Also, I draw the line at claiming the Carpenter’s Workshop onboard HMS Victory and Admiralty House in Tricomalee are objects. Still, superb production standards and a fact-filled guide.
