Armies of the IranIraq War
CHRIS MCNAB
This is number 239 in
Osprey’s Elite series and details the eight year conflict between Iran and Iraq. Having ground to a stalemate and UN sponsored ceasefire in 1988 it left Iraq massively in debt, leading to the invasion of Kuwait just a couple of years later. This book though, covers the action briefly, and concentrates on the armies involved, their uniforms, training and weaponry. There are contemporary photos and mediocre coloured pencil drawings plus a few maps to back up the informed but somewhat mundane text.
