Last chance for families to grab a copy of Arran book
A popular Arran book has been reprinted for the last time.
The second edition of Arran for Families, by David Hilton, is now in the shops at half price. Once sold out the books will not be reprinted.
The decision to end production comes on the eve of the 10th anniversary of its launch in 2007.
David’s wife Joyce said: ‘We’ve decided to call it a day. David is 87 now, so this reprint of the book will be the last.’
The couple, who now live in Edinburgh, have had a close connection with Arran for many years. They retired to the island in 1992 which allowed David, an architect and planner, to fulfill his lifetime ambition to be an artist, and he is grateful to his seven grand children who provided the inspiration for the book.
Arran for Families is an illustrated journey around the island and includes some well known, and some not so well-known facts about the island. It is popular with both adults and children and is available in shops around the island at just £5.99 – and would make an excellent stocking filler.
