Motorcycle show

Sir, The Classic Motorcycle Show at the Arran Heritage Museum has become a very popular and successful annual event. This year it will take place on Sunday July 16 and the organising committee is busy preparing for this, our fifth show.

We are always keen to welcome anyone who has a bike which they would like to be included in the show. It doesn’t have to be in perfect, shiny condition. Bikes which are showing their age with some rust and bruises or are maybe in the process of being restored can be just as interesting as expensive classics. They don’t necessarily have to be very old either, just interesting.

We have included some classic cars and other vehicles in previous shows and we would like to have some more this year. They don’t have to be in show condition either, so long as they would be of interest to visitors to the show.

We know that there’s plenty of interesting old bikes and other vehicles all over the island. Here’s a chance to let folk see them and appreciate our wonderful transport heritage.

If you’ve got a motorbike or other vehicle you think would be of interest, or know someone who has, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact any of the organisers to let us know. Our email addresses are as follows: Ian Leitch, ian.leitch@btopenworld.com; Ronnie Logan, ronald.logan1@ntlworld.com; Lenny Hartley liquidlenny@hotmail.com.

We can also be contacted via our Facebook page (Arran Classic Motorcycle Show) or by speaking to us directly. We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours, Ronnie Logan, Corrie.
