Volunteer fire leader retires
Volunteer fire leader Charlie McAllister of Sliddery has turned off his pager and decided to call it a day after 31 years and nine months service to the parish of Kilmory and Arran.
Charlie has played a sigat nificant role in maintaining the operational cover on Arran, and in particular as a volunteer, deputy volunteer leader and finally volunteer leader. Charlie is well known throughout the southend, and has many a tale of the various fires and rescues he has been called to over the years.
With Charlie retiring Kilmory parish are looking for new volunteer recruits at Corriecravie Station. If you are interested please contact John Fitzpatrick on 870286 or go along to the station on a Tuesday night at 7pm.
