Sunday July 9, The Whiting Bay Improvements Trophy. Despite a pessimistic forecast, the Sunday morning weather was teasingly dry early enough to tempt nine brave souls onto the golf course. A cruel trick. The heavens opened mid morning to make conditions decidedly unpleasant. Five players managed to return cards and Douglas Auld came in with a very creditable net 64 to win by two shots.
