Arran Library hosts book week event
Arran is taking part in Book Week Scotland 2018, which runs from November 19 to 25, when this year’s theme is Rebel.
Visiting author Barb Taub will read from her book Life Begins When the Kids Leave Home and the Dog Dies on November 21 from 7pm to 8pm at Arran Library in Brodick
In halcyon days BC (before children), Barb wrote a humorous column for several Midwest newspapers. With the arrival of child number four, she veered towards the dark side, an HR career. Following a daring daytime escape to England, she’s lived in a medieval castle, a Hobbit house and on a Scottish isle with her prince-of-a-guy and the world’s most spoiled Aussie dog.
Considering all her days are now Saturdays, Barb is amazed that this is her sixth book. This is a free ticketed event, but telephone 01770 302835 to book your place.
The Arran event is just one of hundreds taking place across Scotland during the week. Marc Lambert, CEO of the Scottish Book Trust, said: ‘We’re delighted to present another packed programme for Book Week Scotland, our celebration of reading and writing.’
