dog obedience classes

-

Classes have been running in current format for about 15 years. Training of this type is a very valuable tool in having well socialised dogs that do not make a nuisance of themselves, either with people or other dogs. We frame training in line with the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme and help owners get their dogs to a level they’re happy with. Over the last few years, we have seen a huge number of dogs pass assessments, which are undertaken by an independent evaluator, to either a Bronze, Silver or a Gold level. Some folk continue to come along to maintain training post exams, or indeed, just for the social aspect of the Club. I also deal with a number of dogs with behavioural issues which are often referred on to me by the vet. We also highlight the responsibilities of dog ownership to those attending the classes, be that in terms of the health issues related to dog faeces and the importance of clearing up after your dog and disposing of the bags, not hooked to trees or by the side of the road, but in bins.
