Mountain art at library exhibition
Well-known Arran artist and philanthropist Gordon Davidson from Corrie will be the featured artist at the Arran Library in Brodick during December.
Since graduating from Glasgow School of Art, Gordon has exhibited all over the world, from Kathmandu to Canada. His work hangs in five continents in corporate headquarters, embassies, private homes and royal collections.
He developed a style of painting he calls his ‘Blue Mountain’ technique, which he has used to paint the Alps, the Himalayas, the Atlas Mountains and the Andes, among other ranges. He also produces paintings ‘Alla Prima’ on the spot, capturing the image as he sees it instantaneously.
For the past few years Gordon has travelled to Nepal to be the ‘artist in residence’ among poor and under-privileged children, some who have never seen or made art before.
The exhibition will feature some of Gordon’s new works and is on until Saturday December 22.
