Arran children are encouraged to get cycling

-

Youngsters on Arran have been learning about the benefits of cycling recently.

Three instructors from Get Cycling have been going round the schools on the island giving children Bikeability training on their range of bikes designed for all ages.

Bikeability training is designed to give children the skills and confidence they need to cycle safely and encourage them to carry on cycling into adulthood. And they held a final session for adults and children at Arran High School on the day of Santa’s Sparkle.

Ian Fieldsend, from Get Cycling, said: ‘We have had a great time on Arran and the kids have been really enthusiastic. They even gave us cards and letters of thanks at the end of the programme.’
